Farid,
strike not back those that strike thee;
In utter humility and foregiveness turn towards thy home. |

Do
not utter a single unpolite word to any one, as the true
Master abides in one and all, Do not break the heart of
any one, as every heart is a priceless jewel. |
O,
thou crow, pecking at my emaciated body, eating
away its flesh, Pary touch not these two eyes, so
I may have sight of the Beloved. |

Farid,
speak not ill on the earth its merit is great ;
While living, it is trampled by us;
Dead, it covers us over. |

Farid,
one part of the day didst thou waste in wandering, part
in sleep.
When God asks thee to render thy account,
What will thou say was thy life’s aim? |

Give
me not to hang on anther for favour;
Should such be Thy will, take this life out of me. |
