Punjab Received first time a National Award in this field


The Faridkot District Red Cross Society was bestowed with National Award for outstanding contribution towards welfare of disabled people. It is for the first time in recent past the an organisation from Punjab received a National Honour in this field. The award carries a cash amount of Rs. 25000 a citation and a certificate. Shri A.Venu Prasad, IAS, Deputy Commissioner and President of the Distt. Red Cross Branch received the National Award from President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on the occasion of International Day for the Disabled Persons at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 3rd December,2002.
