 FUNCTION AND DUTES OF ORGANISATION & ITS OFFICERS:

·          The 'Society' is constituted under Act XV of1920.Deputy Commissioner is Ex-Officio President and the Executive Committee comprises permanent members and 3 to be elected by the General Body after every two years.The 'Society' has adopted a model constitution approved by the Punjab State Red Cross Branch, Chandigarh.

·      The 'Society' is  arranging relief and welfare activities as per the 1st schedule, section 7 of the 'Society's       Act.

·          The powers and duties of  its officers and employees are enumerated  under section 27 and 28 of the Model Constitution of District Societies.

THE DECISION MAKING CHANNEL AND PROCESS:

·          All  the  decisions  are  taken  by  the 'Society' in its monthly Executive  Committee meetings. The decisions are executed by the President with  the  help of various office bearers and members.

THE NORMS SET BY THE SOCIETY FOR THE DISCHARGE OF ITS FUNCTIONS:

·          The 'Society' provides  various   services  such   as   relief, rehabilitation, medical aid, welfare of elders, disabled persons, children, and women  for  which it has set detailed norms under the citizens charter available with office of the 'Society'.

THE RULES/REGULATIONS/INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISCHARGING OF ITS FUNCTIONS:

·          The 'Society' is discharging  its  functions  and duties under the provisions of Indian  Red Cross Society's Act-1920 and rules or bye laws framed there under.

CATEGORIES OF IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS HELD BY THE SOCIETY:

·          The 'Society' hold and maintain its files, register, documents etc. on the subjects mentioned above.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR CONSULTATION WITH OR REPRESENTATION BY PUBLIC:

·          Apart  from  daily public dealing timing with the President, Senior Vice-President,  Honorary Secretary and Secretary, the public  can  attend the 'Society's meetings  and can procure its minutes.

·          The information will be disseminated, from time to time, through Newspapers and on notice boards.

·          The 'Society' has already completed action for designating PIO and the Appellate Officer in terms of Section 5(i) &(19)(i)of the Act as under:-
