Definition of NRI

An Indian citizen who stays abroad for employment carrying on business or vocation outside India or stays abroad under circumstances indicating and intention for an uncertain duration of stay abroad is a non-resident. It will also include non-resident foreign citizens of Indian Origin and Indian citizens having green card or  otherwise the right of residence in a foreign country. The definition includes for the purpose of membership an ex-NRI residing in Punjab for more than nine months in a year.

Main Objectives


1) Help the NRI's in protecting their rights especially in property related matters.

2) Provide facilities to NRI's on their visit to District Faridkot.

3) Pursue the interest of the NRI's with the State and Central Govt.

4) Help in investment of NRI's in District Faridkot for economic development.

5) Maintain Cultural and ethnic bonds of Punjab with the NRI's especially with the new
    generation.

6) Promote social welfare in District Faridkot by motivating the NRI's and their friends
    and relatives residing in Punjab.

7) Provide a forum for the NRI's, their friends and relatives living in Punjab and the
    Govt. to join and act together.
